Baby Sign Language Material Sale

Many of you know I started my own business several years back called Let's Sign Baby where I teach Baby Sign Language classes. I love teaching and have had lots of fun over the years teaching my own children sign language and helping teach other parents how to sign with their children.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to teach much in the past year with the new baby and Paul being in school. I still have a lot of materials though that I haven't sold and would love to get out of my house. I decided I'd rather loose money on the product than not sell it at all, and I can buy more inventory in a few years when I start teaching on a more regular basis.

Anyway, almost all my products are from the company Sign2Me and specific information about the products can be found on their website.

Here's the products, the ridiculously low prices I'll sell them for today and how many I have available.

The Complete Learning Kit $30 - 7 available
Pick Me Up $25 - 7 available
Flash Cards $10 - 16 available
Nursery Rhyme Posters $30 - 3 sets available
Reminder Series Posters $60 - 3 sets available

I also have 2 Signing Time Sets
Baby Signing Time Vol 1 and 2 Gift Set $30
Signing Time Vol 10-13 Gift Set $40

If you are interested in buying some of these products for yourself or as gifts for others, or if you have any questions at all, please leave me a comment or e-mail me. We can work out payment and delivery. Have a great day and I hope you enjoy learning to sign with your children as much as I have with mine.

End of January Progress Report

I'm headed out of town so for me this is the end of working out in January, so here's my report.

Well, I finished my first EA Sports Active 30 Day Challenge yesterday. I think it technically took me 31 days, but that's cause I don't workout on Sunday and I had some extra lazy days in there. I did it on the "Easy" setting and I think I was most surprised at how my knees hurt. There were A LOT of lunges in there and my knees were just not ready for that much bending. Overall I enjoyed the 30 day challenge, and while there were some parts that really challenged me (kick ups and high knees) most of it wasn't too challenging and it was pretty enjoyable. I plan on working out on just the Wii Fit Plus for February, and I'll go back to EA Sports Active on a "Medium" intensity for March.

Now for the progress report. As you can see from the picture below, I did a pretty good job of working out every day. Sunday is my day of rest, and there were 2 days last week when it just didn't get done, but other than that I'm really proud of my progress. But...I don't feel like my weight or BMI really shifted at all. I tried hard to work out at the same time (between 8-9am) most days and wear the same workout clothes each day too (I did wash them of course!). I hoped that would reduce the crazy fluctuations I've experienced on the scale, but it didn't. I'll try even harder this next month to work out at the same time and in the same outfit, and will hope again for less fluctuations, but I'm not holding my breath.

My baby was born in November and when he was 1 week old I tried on, and fit into, my non-maternity, size 10 jeans. At 2 weeks old I started wearing my size 8 jeans that I have worn for the past 3 years since kid B was born. I'm proud to say that when kid C was 2 months old I bought some size 6 jeans! I was wearing that size before and after the birth of kid A, but haven't worn those for YEARS and was super proud of myself. While the scale isn't always my friend, I'm happy in my jeans and that's at least something. I still have to get rid of "the belly" and I'd still like to lose 15 pounds or more, but the other day I caught a glance of myself in the mirror and liked the way my butt looked, so I can't complain too much. I will keep up the good work and keep updating this blog to make myself accountable. Wish me luck!

Working on my routine

I have almost finished my EA Sports Active 30 day challenge. I've been doing it on an easy intensity and assume throughout the year I'll get to the medium and high intensity. I'm enjoying it and feel sore during and after my workout, but I don't always feel like I'm pushing myself. I haven't done much with other workouts, but I plan on working on some of those when I finish the challenge. Anyone who has suggestions on what they've liked doing on Active please let me know.

On my rest days I've been using the Wii Fit Plus. Last year this time I was really good at using the Wii Fit and would do 30 min every day of yoga, strength training and mostly aerobics. So far this year I've tried putting together some of the routines they have, but haven't found exactly what I want. I really wish it was more customizable. I'll admit when I do get on the Wii Fit Plus I'm often playing around with the new stuff on Training Plus, but most of that isn't very aerobic...but they are fun.

I need to get myself organized and figure out a good routine...or a few good routines...that will help me feel myself pushed and help me see results.

Working out with the Wii

I got the Wii Fit Plus and EA Sports Active for Christmas. Yippee!

I am working hard to get myself organized and exercise everyday. I know, for myself, that if I don't work out first thing in the morning, it's just not going to happen. Once I shower and get dressed though, I'm not going to exercise, so I have to do it early. I try to exercise immediately after Kid A gets on the school bus, but before Kid B needs to get driven to preschool. Kid C (2 months) still feeds on demand and that makes it hard, but I still have to loose all the residual baby weight.

My mother taught me the saying "Horses sweat, Men Perspire, Women Glisten." I don't sweat. I've had gym memberships, I've worked out regularly on both of my Wii workout games, but I don't sweat. I get winded, I get sore, I feel "gross, I need to shower" but I don't sweat. My husband says I'm not pushing myself hard enough, and maybe I'm not, but part of me thinks maybe I just don't sweat. Any thoughts for me?

Luckily, so far the pounds are slowly slipping away. The scale is getting a pound less every 2 or 3 weeks. It's not nearly as fast as I want it too, but I'm pleased it's moving. This weekend I bought a pair of jeans one size smaller than I've worn in 4 years and they fit! I'm pretty excited!
