Crystal Deodorant Review

I’ve been wearing the same brand deodorant for YEARS now.  It works for me, no need to make a change.  But I was given the opportunity to try out the Natural Crystal Body Deodorant Roll-On and liked it well enough.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this product has the pink ribbon on the front and a note that it is endorsed by cancer treatment centers on the back.  That’s because this deodorant is made of natural mineral salts (only has 3 ingredients) and doesn’t have any aluminum chlorohydrate  and is paraben free, both which are causes of concern in the breast cancer research world.  It’s also hypoallergenic and fragrance free.  I think that’s pretty cool!

On the back of the bottle it says “It is non-sticky, non-staining, leaves no white residue and can be used by both men and women.”  Once I read that, I asked my husband to try it with me for a week.  I figured two opinions were better than one!

We’ll start with my husband.  He wasn’t too impressed.  He said the roll-on caught in his underarm hair.  He also thought he had a mild body odor by the end of the day and definitely by the next morning.  He’d rather stick with his Degree deodorant that he’s been using for years.

I on the other hand didn’t mind the change.  I hadn’t used a roll-on ever before and found it just fine.  It didn’t make a mess on my clothes which was important for me.  I don’t sweat a lot (and didn’t work out this week – just made and ate lots of cookies) and didn’t notice any body odor myself.

I liked the price (bought it at Wal-Mart for less than $4) and liked that it’s natural.  It won’t be long before my 7yo son starts to need to wear deodorant.  I wouldn’t mind getting something like this for him.

Overall, I think it’s fine, works well enough, and is worth a try, especially if you are trying to go the more natural route.
